I started antibiotics for the tooth abscess, but the swelling did not go down immediately. Is it normal?

My tooth, which needed root canal treatment, abscessed, the doctor gave me amoxicillin. I have been drinking for 2 days. When will the swelling go down?

Antibiotics reach effective concentrations in the blood in 48-72 hours. The subsidence of swelling and the regression of inflammation become evident after the 3rd day. However, the real treatment is not antibiotics, but your doctor opening the tooth and cleaning or draining the canal.
