Getting braces at the age of 32: Is there a risk of osteoporosis or tooth loss?

I am 32 years old and I want to start orthodontic treatment, which I could not have when I was a child because I did not have the opportunity. However, some of my friends at work said things like "after this age, your bones become hard, your teeth become loose and fall out" and upset me. Are those who have braces inserted at an adult age satisfied with the process?

I had my braces put on when I was 35, I am now 37 and my braces came off last month! Believe me, it was the best investment I ever made for myself in my life. Never listen to the uninformed people around you, age does not matter if your gum health is good.

Orthodontic tooth movement is based on the principle of bone destruction and remodeling. This biological mechanism is active throughout life in every individual with healthy gum and bone support. The only difference in adults is that the cellular response is slightly slower than in children. If your periodontal examination is clean before treatment and you pay attention to your oral hygiene, there is no risk of tooth loss.

I had sapphire braces installed when I was 29, and no one in the office even noticed it as odd. In fact, 2 of my colleagues got the courage from me and started too :) Definitely don't postpone!
