A white plaque appeared at the floor of my mouth that did not scrape off. My doctor told me to quit smoking immediately.

Leukoplakia is in the class of precancerous lesions and its biggest trigger is tobacco products. When smoking is stopped, some of the lesions regress spontaneously, but those that do not regress should be kept under control with biopsy.
