Does dental scaling scratch or break tooth enamel?

My family says that if you have your teeth cleaned, the enamel of your teeth will be scratched and gaps will open between your teeth. Do ultrasonic devices really damage teeth?

It's completely misinformation among the public! Ultrasonic devices do not cut or scrape the tooth, they only crack and drop the stones without touching the tooth with water and vibration. The feeling that the teeth are spaced is caused by the cleaning of hardened stones, which are nests of germs that previously filled those spaces.

The ultrasonic tips used during the determination process do not cause mechanical abrasion that will damage the enamel hardness; It removes calcified inclusions (tartar) from the surface only by cavitational water flow and micro-vibration. Tooth stones that are not cleaned melt the jaw bone, paving the way for teeth to shake and fall out.
