Those who started wearing braces and elastics (fox, rabbit): How long does it take for the jaw pain to go away?

I am in the 10th month of my treatment, my doctor gave me an intermaxillary elastic (fox elastic) that is worn from the upper canine tooth to the lower molar. The first night I wore it, I woke up with a pain like they were squeezing my jaw in a vise. While talking, the tires feel like they're about to explode. How many days does it take to get used to this tire pain?

Those fox elastics are a pain in the ass, but they are the miraculous thing that actually aligns the teeth and sets the bite! It's true that your jaw joint hurts for the first 3-4 days, but don't ignore it just because it hurts. If you take it off and put it on, the pain never goes away. If you wear it constantly, the pain goes away completely on the 4th day.

Intermaxillary elastics provide the guiding force required for the teeth and jaws to sit in ideal occlusion relative to each other. You must wear the elastics for the hours specified by your doctor (usually 24 hours excluding meals). When worn regularly, chewing muscles and periodontium adapt within 3-5 days. Taking it off and taking a break resets the adaptation process and prolongs the feeling of pain.

They gave me a rabbit tire too, it would snap and pop off when stretching :) Always carry a spare pack in your bag and pocket, once you get used to it, you can put it on in 2 seconds without a mirror.
