Clear aligner or classic metal braces? My 1 year patient experience

I am 27 years old and I work in a corporate company. Because I was constantly in meetings, I started transparent aligner (Invisalign) treatment 1 year ago. I wanted to write down the pros and cons for friends who are considering vinyl: The biggest plus is that no one really notices it from the outside and you can take it out and chew freely while eating. The downside is having to wear it for 20-22 hours a day; Sometimes it can be tiring to run to the toilet and brush your teeth while eating out. If anyone is in the dilemma of braces or records, I can answer your questions.

That's a great summary! I have been wearing aligners for 6 months. It's definitely a matter of discipline, not suitable for someone who says "I'm too lazy to brush my teeth outside." But in terms of aesthetics, it cannot even be compared to wire.

Thanks for your valuable sharing. Nowadays, transparent plates have improved a lot in terms of biomechanics and in the majority of cases, they provide as successful results as fixed metal brackets. However, patient compliance and daily wearing time (minimum 20-22 hours) are the key to treatment success. Fixed braces are still the gold standard in patients who may have cooperation problems.

I also had braces put in because I was afraid I would lose the aligners or forget to put them on. At least you don't have the chance to forget the braces once you have them installed :) I think both methods have their place.
