Is the amount of radiation received during a dental x-ray harmful to health?

I had panoramic films taken twice in the last 3 months. Does the radiation dose in digital dental x-rays harm the body?

The radiation dose in today's digital panoramic devices is extremely low. It is approximately equivalent to the natural cosmic radiation you receive on a 2-3 hour plane ride. There is no health risk when using a lead vest and thyroid protector.
