Pain and hunger crises experienced in the first 3-4 days after wearing braces

Friends, metal braces were placed on my upper jaw yesterday. Even touching my teeth hurts so much right now, I can't eat anything except soup and yoghurt. The inside of my cheeks also got canker sores as I rubbed them against the brackets. Exactly on what day does this pressure and pain ease? I use wax, but it falls off when wet. Does anyone have any practical suggestions?

Good luck with your treatment! Don't get discouraged, for the first 3-4 days we all regretted "what did I do and why did I have it installed?" Starting from the 5th day, your teeth get used to that constant force and you can slowly start eating pasta, rice, and soft bread crumbs. Before sticking the candle, dry the cheek and the bracket with a napkin. If you stick it to a dry place, it will not fall off for hours.

Hello, the feeling of pressure you feel in the first week of your treatment is a natural result of the cellular movement that begins in the periodontium fibers of the teeth. It usually peaks within 48-72 hours and then decreases and disappears. For severe pain, you can choose mild analgesics containing paracetamol. For inner cheek irritations, gargling with warm salt water will significantly accelerate tissue healing.

I survived on mashed potatoes and bananas for the first week :) If you buy Kenacort or aphthous gel from the pharmacy and apply it before going to bed at night, the pain of the wounds is reduced by half in the morning.

That's right, after the first week you'll forget you even have braces. Now I'm in my first year, I can eat everything except nuts and peanuts (by slicing them, of course). Be patient!
