Excessive growth of gums (gingival hyperplasia) after using blood pressure medication

6 months after I started using amlodipine, my gums grew enough to cover half of my teeth.

Calcium channel blockers, blood pressure medications and some antiepileptics can cause gingival enlargement by increasing fibroblast activity. When you consult your cardiologist, change the medication group, and perform dental scaling, the gums shrink rapidly.
