Differences between zirconium coating and metal-supported porcelain and gum compatibility

A crown will be made for my broken molar tooth that had root canal treatment. My doctor offered the option of zirconium or porcelain. Is zirconium worth the price difference?

Definitely get zirconium! On my old metal porcelain, over time, a gray line formed at the edge of the gum and my gum was bruised. Such a thing is impossible with zirconium; it cannot be distinguished from my own teeth.

Zirconium dioxide frameworks have excellent biocompatibility, do not cause inflammation when combined with the gums, and mimic natural tooth enamel thanks to their light permeability. The risk of gray reflectance and corrosion seen in metal-supported porcelains is zero in zirconium.
