While brushing my teeth, an unbearable pain, like an electric shock, strikes my left cheek. The dentist said there was no problem with the tooth.

This picture is a classic symptom of Trigeminal Neuralgia. It is the triggering of the 5th cranial nerve, the trigeminal nerve, due to vascular pressure. Normal painkillers do not help; Neuropathic drugs (carbamazepine, etc.) prescribed by the neurologist completely relieve the pain.

I was wondering the same question, and the detailed answer given by our doctor was very enlightening. Thanks.
