Has anyone had arthrocentesis (joint washing) performed on the jaw joint? Did you see the benefits?

My doctor said we should do arthrocentesis because of the severe pain in my jaw joint and the inability to open my mouth. Is it done with needle?

Arthrocentesis is the process of entering the joint space with two thin cannulas under local anesthesia, washing and cleaning the microscopic inflammatory fluid there with sterile serum, and then injecting hyaluronic acid. It relieves locking and pain very quickly.

I was wondering the same question, and the detailed answer given by our doctor was very enlightening. Thanks.
