My dietitian recommended me to eat one green apple and carrot a day, but my doctor said not to bite anything with your front teeth. If I slice it very thinly with a knife and chew it with my back teeth, will the bracket break? How do you consume hard fruits when there is string?

Definitely don't bite with the front teeth! The front brackets come off instantly. I grate the apple on an apple grater or use a knife to slice thin leaves like potato chips and throw them directly onto the back molars. You can also lightly steam and eat carrots.

The adhesive of orthodontic brackets is resistant to tensile and compression forces, but is sensitive to bending and shearing forces. The biting action applies a shearing force to the bracket base and cracks the adhesive. Chewing fruits in thin slices with the back teeth is correct for bracket safety.
